Blog translation

Ugh. Here we are again, back to clumsy blog translations! This was so much harder than I remember it being. I'm sure I misunderstood a lot of this, but I think I got the general idea.

Of course, it took me so long, he has like a million new blog entries. Dang iiiit Yuuukiiiiii *shakes fist of indignation*

Oh still alive what

It's been so long since I posted, Yuuki actually went back to calling himself Yuuki. So I guess I'll have to update my graphics, ha ha ha... oops.

Yeah. Three years. Jeeze. A great deal over three years, really. Having a grown-up job tends to suck the energy out of a person, and I just haven't had the time/mental capacity to do a lot of the things I used to do back before graduating from college.

(haiiro tried to keep the community alive for a bit, I know, but even she got sucked into the miasma of adulthood!!)

However!

Lately I've been really dedicated to the idea of getting back into Japanese, because my abilities to speak and comprehend it have declined dramatically. So, while I'm doing a few other things to brush up and learn more, I've decided to get back into translating Yuuki's blog. It's a great way to challenge my understanding of the language.

I've started on his most recent entry (as of today), so I'm going to go from there. I have no idea if anyone is still following this, but if so, I thank you!

My first shot at a restart.

Newest

Last Saturday, after a long wait of a little over a month, my copy of Tomohito's photobook (Newest) arrived. I was overjoyed, in spite of my dad's comments toward my lack of intelligence for spending so much money on a "bunch of pictures of a Japanese girly-boy." XD

It's a really nice photobook and has some beautiful images. If you are into collecting photobooks and you're a big fan of Tomohito, then I definitely recommend buying it (if you haven't already, anyway). If you aren't that into collecting photobooks but you're a big fan, then I'd still recommend it! 60USD is pretty steep, but I feel like it was worth it.

Anyway, as far as I can tell, there aren't really any scans on the net. So we'll call this an early Valentine's Day present. Or maybe just because I love you guys. ♪ Either way, I scanned some of the book.

Certainly didn't scan all of it. There are a lot of pictures, and I was being a bit cautious with my scanning. Since it's such an expensive book, I didn't want to risk breaking the spine by trying to flatten it out too much, and I didn't want to bend the pages a lot either. As a result, there were some pictures I couldn't scan because it cut off his face or something. Some of the others have rather odd dimensions, or are missing bits of the page. I tried to get as much as I could into the frame, though. Additionally, there were a few two-page spreads that I didn't even attempt to scan.  And one of the pictures randomly got eaten. O_o  When I got upstairs it was just a blank thing.  I might re-do it later... but we'll see.

In short, if you want to see it in full, you still have to buy it. Oh, I am crafty (actually I'm just lazy).

Anyway, without further ado, here are the scans. Quality is a bit questionable at times, but they serve their purpose. If you end up using them for icons or layouts or whatever, please be sure to credit me. It was a time consuming process. ^_^;

That's all!

Now I'm off to bed.  I meant to go quite some time ago... had no idea it would take me 2 hours to get all that uploaded.  @_@

No longer a member of Top Coat

Hello fellow fans. Once again, I come bearing news of Yuuki/Tomohito's recent disappearance from...everything.

Googling the Japanese web has finally produced some news. This comes second-hand from a Japanese fan's blog. She, too was also a little weirded out when she went to read Yuuki's blog and it suddenly wasn't there.

She apparently checked Top Coat's mobile website to see what was up, and got this message (on 1/4/10):

Announcement regarding Sato Tomohito

Please be aware in advance that on January 30, 2010, all content relating to Sato Tomohito (from his profile to his manager's diary...so on and so forth) will be removed.

(best translation I could manage. Figure it gets the point across.)

There is nothing from Yuuki himself. The Japanese fan later wrote a second blog about this, containing an addition to the previous message. (1/12/10)

Announcement regarding Sato Tomohito

As of now, Sato Tomohito is no longer a member of our company, so

Please be aware in advance that on January 30, 2010, all content relating to Sato Tomohito (from his profile to his manager's diary...so on and so forth) will be removed.

(I put those in red, because that is how it appeared on the blog I found this on, and, apparently, on the official announcement).

According to this fan, there has not been any kind of statement or announcement from Tomohito himself, so no one really knows where he'll end up now. I'll keep an eye on the j-web for any more news.

???

As if the blog incident wasn't befuddling enough, things have gotten even stranger.

It seems that Tomohito's page on Top Coat has also disappeared with no explanation.

Upon further investigation thanks to haiiro, it seems that his membership with another site has been inexpicably terminated as well. So really, the only conclusion is that Tomohito has, without warning, vanished into thin air.

Well. Haiiro and I have speculated that maybe there was some kind of a scandal and he was quietly erased, but normally things like that make it into the news somewhere, even if it's the tabloids. We'll see. Hopefully the truth will come out soon enough.

If anyone has any Japanese news resources or has heard anything, please let us know! I'll be trying to find what I can in the future. I just don't have many good Japanese resources.

Hopefully we haven't seen the last of him. :(

 Hi!

I've just joined in your community. Nice to meet you!

I'm watching Voice right now and the other day I thought "Hmm, that person is interesting" and when I was looking for more info about him, I saw some photographs and I though... "wow, he is handsome!"

So I want to know more about Sato Tomohito and find how is he as actor. I know he has released one photo album called Newest but I can not find any scan on the website. Anyone could tell me if it is a good album?

And I have one more question. I think he changed his name, Sato Yuki to Sato Tomohito or vice versa. Why? Because I don't know how I would find more info, if it is with tomohito or yuki.

I love his photographs with mustache
